Terms of use
The agreement between you and Micro E-pay, running Akawo Manager from Lagos: what the software does, what it costs, and what we do not promise. Effective 5 November 2026.
What you are buying
A ledger. You get software that records deposits, withdrawals, loans and repayments, savings plans, contribution cards, branches, staff and members, and reports on them.
You are not buying a bank or an investment service. Akawo Manager does not move your money, guarantee your members' contributions, or advise you how to run your group.
Accounts and staff
You create the staff accounts and you decide what each can do. Everything a staff member records under your business is yours, and so is the responsibility for it.
Keep transaction PINs away from anyone who should not authorise a collection. The PIN exists to tie an entry to a person, which only works if that person's PIN stays theirs.
Plans, limits and cycles
Each plan carries three limits enforced by the software rather than by a conversation: members, staff seats and SMS credits. The figures on the pricing page are the figures the system applies.
Plans bill monthly, every three months or yearly where the plan offers it. The loan module is switched on for a business rather than tied to a tier; ask us and we will tell you where you stand. Passing a member or staff limit returns a refusal, not a silent cut-off, and add-ons exist for extra seats, credits or the loan module.
The first seven days
A new business runs for seven days before any plan is attached to it. During those days the member and staff caps are not enforced, so you can load your real book and see whether it fits.
After day seven the business needs a plan. We do not ask for card details at sign-up and there is nothing to charge automatically when the week ends.
Billing and renewal
We raise an invoice and you pay it through MicroEPay. Renewal is manual on purpose: no saved card, no standing mandate, no automatic charge. Paying an invoice moves the expiry forward.
Prices can change, and a change takes effect on your next invoice rather than mid-period.
Expiry and ending
When a subscription expires, gated actions return an error saying so. Your records are not deleted; you renew and carry on.
To stop using the product, tell us. There is no self-service cancellation button and no long-term contract to exit, so a message to [email protected] is the process.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Akawo Manager to:
- record transactions that are unlawful, or to conceal the true owner of funds;
- run a group you are not authorised to operate;
- probe, overload or break the service, or reach another business's records;
- resell or white-label access without an agreement with us;
- send bulk or unsolicited messages to numbers collected here.
We can suspend an account for any of these, or to protect the platform and its other businesses. Where it is your own account, we will tell you why and what would fix it.
Your records
The book you keep belongs to you. We hold it to run the service and to keep backups, and for no other purpose. The privacy policy covers what we collect and what you can ask us to do with it.
On request we produce a transaction export of your business as CSV. Self-service export is not built, so this is a manual job we do for you.
SMS credits
Member notifications cost one credit each and credits are priced at ₦7. They come with a paid plan or are bought as an add-on. Messages raised outside 08:00 to 20:00 queue for the next morning rather than arriving at night.
Delivery depends on Termii and the destination network, so we cannot promise a message arrived; delivery receipts are not wired up.
Third-party services
Payment rails, SMS and email run through the partners named in the privacy policy. Where their rules bind a transaction, theirs apply alongside these terms, including on the virtual account a saver may be issued.
Availability
We do not publish an uptime guarantee and will not pretend to offer one here. The platform runs on infrastructure we operate, the database is archived nightly, and we take the service down for maintenance when we must.
If you need a contractual availability commitment, that is a conversation before you sign.
Liability
Akawo Manager is a record-keeping tool. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for the decisions you make from it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the period in which the problem arose, and we are not liable for losses that follow from records you or your staff entered wrongly.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with Lagos courts for disputes. We can change them; a change is dated here and takes effect on that date. If a clause falls, the rest stands.
